Where is the Goethe A1 exam held in Islamabad?

In Islamabad, the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 exam is held at NUML, which is also the nearest Goethe A1 venue for students in Rawalpindi. Seats are limited and go quickly on booking day, so check dates and booking days on the Goethe-Institut Pakistan website.

NUML is the exam venue only. We are an independent online school and are not affiliated with NUML or the Goethe-Institut. We don't book exams for students; we explain how booking works in how to book the Goethe A1 exam in Pakistan.

Planning your exam around the embassy

The German Embassy is in Islamabad, and its family reunion page explains documents, fees and how visa appointments work. For a spouse visa, plan your A1 exam so the certificate is no older than one year on the day you apply.

Results arrive on My Goethe.de about 4 weeks after the exam, and you can retake it if needed, so leave enough time between the exam and your visa appointment. Read the German spouse visa requirements for who needs A1 and who is exempt.
