Common questions
What German level do I need for a work visa?
It depends on the visa and the job. The Opportunity Card needs at least A1 German (or B2 English), many Ausbildung programmes and employers ask for B1, and some regulated jobs such as nursing need B2 to work fully. Always check the requirement for your role.
Why learn workplace German from A1?
It saves time later. Learning the words for your job, interviews and emails alongside everyday German means you reach B1 already able to talk at work, instead of learning a second vocabulary from scratch.
How long does the work visa course take?
About 6 months for A1, A2 and B1 back to back, with five one-to-one classes a week, usually 60 minutes each.
