Common questions
Why is B1 German important?
B1 is the level where you can work and study with some independence: you follow clear conversations at work, describe experiences and write simple formal letters. Many Ausbildung programmes and employers in Germany ask for B1, and nurses need it to start the recognition process.
Does German help with the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)?
Yes. The Opportunity Card uses a points system, and German language skills earn points, with more points for higher levels. Check the official Make it in Germany website for the current rules before you apply.
How long does B1 take?
This course runs for 10 weeks with four 90-minute live classes a week, about 60 hours of class time. Most students finish A2 first.
