Why learn German online, one-to-one?

Short answer
Learning German online, one-to-one, means every class is just you and your teacher, live on Zoom. The lesson follows your pace and your goal, grammar is explained in Urdu, and there is no commute: you join from home, anywhere in Pakistan or abroad. Speaking practice happens in small groups, separate for women and men.
What does one-to-one online actually mean?
At German with Farwa, every class is live and one-to-one on Zoom Workplace: you, the teacher and the lesson, with nobody else in the class. You have 5 classes a week, 60–90 minutes each (usually 60), and each level (A1, A2 or B1) takes 6–8 weeks. We are an online-only school: there is no classroom or office to visit.
Can I learn at my own pace?
Yes, and that's the main reason to learn one-to-one. If something isn't clear, we stay on it until it is. If you already know a topic, we move on. Nobody else's level slows you down or rushes you, and the whole class is time you spend speaking, listening and asking your own questions.
The lessons also follow your goal. Someone preparing for a spouse visa needs the Goethe A1 exam format; someone heading for a job needs workplace German. One-to-one classes can focus on exactly what you need.
Why are explanations in Urdu helpful?
German grammar clicks faster when it is explained in the language you think in. Why does the verb go to the end after weil? Why is it der Pass but die Prüfung? We explain each rule in Urdu, often by comparing it with Urdu sentences, and then you practise it in German.
Urdu speakers tend to make the same few mistakes, such as putting the verb last or forgetting the article. A teacher who knows where they come from can fix them early.
How does speaking practice work if classes are one-to-one?
Speaking with other learners builds confidence, and the Goethe speaking test is taken in a small group. So as well as your one-to-one classes, there are extra speaking practice groups online. The groups are separate for women and men: women practise with women, men with men.
Separate groups mean everyone can practise speaking in a setting where they feel comfortable, which is what makes people actually speak.
What else makes online learning easier?
- No commute: no traffic, no travel costs, and no time lost getting to class.
- Join from anywhere: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, a smaller town, or abroad.
- Help between classes: send your questions on WhatsApp.
- Mock exams in the Goethe format, with personal feedback on your writing and speaking.
- A free 15-minute level check before you pay, so you start at the right level.
Is one-to-one online right for me?
It suits most learners, and especially you if any of these sound familiar:
- You have a deadline, such as a visa appointment or an exam date, and need a clear plan.
- You work, study or look after a family, and travelling to classes would be hard.
- You live in a smaller town, or abroad, far from a German course.
- You feel shy speaking in front of a big group and want to build confidence first.
- You've studied before and want to start exactly at your level, not from the beginning.
It also asks something of you: five classes a week work best with short practice on most days in between. The free level check is a good moment to talk about whether the schedule fits your life.
What do I need to join?
- A phone, tablet or laptop with the Zoom app. A laptop or tablet makes reading and writing easier.
- A stable internet connection and a quiet place for class.
- Earphones with a microphone, so you hear clearly and others hear you.
- A notebook for new words, ideally with colours for der, die and das.
How much does it cost?
Each level costs PKR 60,000. A1 + A2 together cost PKR 110,000, and A1 to B1 costs PKR 130,000. Students outside Pakistan can ask for international pricing. See German course fees in Pakistan for everything included in each level.
How do I start?
- Take the free German level test to see roughly where you are.
- Message us on WhatsApp with your goal and deadline for a free 15-minute level check.
- Choose your course, such as the A1 German course online, and agree your class times.

Common questions
Are the classes really one-to-one?
Yes. Every class is live on Zoom Workplace with just you and the teacher. Only the extra speaking practice happens in small groups, which are separate for women and men.
Do you have a classroom I can visit?
No. We are an online-only school with no classroom or office. All classes are on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in Pakistan or abroad.
Is online learning good enough to pass the Goethe exam?
The exam tests listening, reading, writing and speaking, and all four can be practised online. Our courses include mock exams in the Goethe format with feedback on your writing and speaking, so you know the format before exam day.
